How NOT to record extra sound for a movie.

So it's been a while since any ripples in the water here. A LONG while. Thought I would share a little behind the scenes vid of us recording foley/adr/sfx for the movie.

We're still in the very final stages of wrapping the whole thing up for good. We're anxious to finally have a finished product! Keep updated at the website: www.thetimecloset.com

Convo-Con

It's probably a bad idea to start giving lectures and dissecting the success of your film in front of groups of people before you've actually finished, you know, making it. But since when have we ever let a bad idea stop us from doing something?
Jeff and I are speaking at this "convo" thing. It's required if you want convo credit from Belmont. I've never really had a need for convo credit from Belmont, but I'm happy to help out some kids in need. I say kids, when I'm about 10 seconds older than all of them.
Micah Sledge designed that poster there, and it's actually pretty cool is it not? He used the mustache photo of me, though, and for that I might have to hurt him. Now all the students will think I am weird. Because of the poster.
If you're around, come hang out. It'll actually feature the world premiere of the new trailer for the movie (it's not Comic-Con, but it'll do). Darren has asked that the trailer be cut exclusively to the Star Trek trailer music, but I can't promise I'll ever do anything to satisfy Darren.
See some of you Friday morning. I'm gonna go finish the trailer.

This Place Is Death

Wow, from the looks of this blog, one would assume that this film has been laid to rest. At sea.
But fret not, kids (seriously stop fretting, damn it). We're close to finishing the movie. Spine-crushingly close. I don't really know what that means. I have a freelance script deadline, or had one a week ago, that I'm finally working on tonight, so I drank 2 Red Bulls. And ate some Sweet Tarts. And then I got on here and blogged. That's why you're reading all of this. That or I came over to your house and am reading it aloud to you, which would not be surprising. Thank you for having me. Your roommate is kind of a jerk, though. I'm just saying.
Oh yeah, right, the movie. We're gonna be done on April 26th. Completely finished. You are impressed by this. It only took us a full year.
So there you go. Consider yourself updated. Hard.

The Champion and His Burning Strings

We now know that the movie will sound very pleasant to say the least.

gangster wrapping

Probable wrap day of principal photography.

Gangster Wraps from Seth Worley on Vimeo.

UPDATE: Matt Hamilton has gotten himself into the mix and will be working with us to handle foley, ADR and mixing. We're completely honored to have him along. Seth and I are meeting with Champion next weekend to watch them record strings! Exciting!

Also, a lady sitting beside me at Starbucks right now has been forcefully trying to give me a cupcake for the past 5 minutes. I have respectfully abstained.

After talking with Seth today, I switched out Tyler's head from the original image and put in this one. I'm very pleased with it, mainly because I didn't know if I'd be able to do it or not. Luckily, he made this face in a very similar position so I was able to easily make the switch.

Okay, so this is an EXTREMELY early version of this poster. I made it in roughly 5 minutes with a few photoshop filters and then dragged the text over from the website. I'm just putting it up because it makes me laugh and hopefully it'll get everyone fired up to finish this movie and become famous.
