So it's been a while since any ripples in the water here. A LONG while. Thought I would share a little behind the scenes vid of us recording foley/adr/sfx for the movie.
We're still in the very final stages of wrapping the whole thing up for good. We're anxious to finally have a finished product! Keep updated at the website: www.thetimecloset.com

Convo-Con

It's probably a bad idea to start giving lectures and dissecting the success of your film in front of groups of people before you've actually finished, you know, making it. But since when have we ever let a bad idea stop us from doing something?
Jeff and I are speaking at this "convo" thing. It's required if you want convo credit from Belmont. I've never really had a need for convo credit from Belmont, but I'm happy to help out some kids in need. I say kids, when I'm about 10 seconds older than all of them.
Micah Sledge designed that poster there, and it's actually pretty cool is it not? He used the mustache photo of me, though, and for that I might have to hurt him. Now all the students will think I am weird. Because of the poster.
If you're around, come hang out. It'll actually feature the world premiere of the new trailer for the movie (it's not Comic-Con, but it'll do). Darren has asked that the trailer be cut exclusively to the Star Trek trailer music, but I can't promise I'll ever do anything to satisfy Darren.
See some of you Friday morning. I'm gonna go finish the trailer.

This Place Is Death
Wow, from the looks of this blog, one would assume that this film has been laid to rest. At sea.
But fret not, kids (seriously stop fretting, damn it). We're close to finishing the movie. Spine-crushingly close. I don't really know what that means. I have a freelance script deadline, or had one a week ago, that I'm finally working on tonight, so I drank 2 Red Bulls. And ate some Sweet Tarts. And then I got on here and blogged. That's why you're reading all of this. That or I came over to your house and am reading it aloud to you, which would not be surprising. Thank you for having me. Your roommate is kind of a jerk, though. I'm just saying.
Oh yeah, right, the movie. We're gonna be done on April 26th. Completely finished. You are impressed by this. It only took us a full year.
So there you go. Consider yourself updated. Hard.

gangster wrapping
Probable wrap day of principal photography.
Gangster Wraps from Seth Worley on Vimeo.
UPDATE: Matt Hamilton has gotten himself into the mix and will be working with us to handle foley, ADR and mixing. We're completely honored to have him along. Seth and I are meeting with Champion next weekend to watch them record strings! Exciting!
Also, a lady sitting beside me at Starbucks right now has been forcefully trying to give me a cupcake for the past 5 minutes. I have respectfully abstained.

and...PUSH....
It's Wrap Weekend.
We are nearing the end of principal photography. Above, you can see Seth and Darren taking a quick break in between covering Darren's car in dead branches....
Tonight will be a long night, we've still got a few scenes left to shoot, but we're nearing the end of the longest shoot any of us have ever collaborated on. Just a little bit more to go!!!
Keep posted for more information, and the trailer coming soon...

In Paste! (Not Literally!)

So if you go to PasteMagazine.com, you'll be like, "I wonder who their Band Of The Week is this particular week?" And when you go to find the answer, you won't know what to do, you'll be all like, "WHAT!? It's THE CHAMPION AND HIS BURNING FLAME!" and PasteMagazine.com will be all like, "I know," and you'll be like, "shutup, website, you're not a person."
But seriously. Check it out:
At a little more than a year's worth of bandship, this could be considered a fledgling pursuit. However, there is a chemistry and honesty in The Champion and His Burning Flame's inaugural effort, The French EP, that begs for listening, pondering and then listening again...
And they even shared the spotlight with some much lesser deserving artists:
...One way this is currently being realized is the band's contribution to Seth Worley's independent film The Time Closet. The first feature-length movie that the band has scored (Arnold has scored short films in the past), the project is expected to be submitted to various festivals in the coming year.
Champion, you guys absolutely rule. Congrats on the publicity and thanks for letting us tag along...

Expect a teaser trailer very freaking soon.

Through The Yards
We shot some more this past weekend. We drove Darren's car through some backyards without obtaining permission first. We had the much-more qualified-to-make-a-movie-than-us Mark Cowart come out and fan our actors with reflectors. We had our entire cast onscreen at once for the first time.
We got about 2 hours of sleep.
And then we all went back to work/school today, only barely alive.
We're close....so close.....

The Champion And His Burning Time Closet

Hey folks,
Just wanted to announce something very cool. As of today, a band called The Champion And His Burning Flame will officially be composing the score for the movie.
The Champion is the current band of my longtime friend and collaborator Dave Arnold (who composed the score for the original short), and we met tonight to go over theme ideas, and I can't tell you how excited I am.
If you're skeptical, curious, and/or overwhelmingly thrilled, check out their MySpace to hear some songs from their most recent project "The French EP," which is hands down some of the best music I've heard in a very long time.
Get excited. Otherwise you'll be left out.
